update

I am going to have to ask that if you want to visit Marty, you need to call and make sure it's a good time.  Family still may see him with no call to me.  My cell is 937-243-2292.  Please respect this.  And I will remind those of you who have visited him recently that what you see and hear while with Marty, stays only with you.  Please do not think that you need to tell others.  This is a very sensitive time for him and we still have 4 children that I would like to protect.  So please respect my wishes.

Continue to pray for all of us.

Still praying, Julie

Julie,
What a shame that after a whole year you are still in the position where you have to tell people to use their common sense and not to gossip.  What a shame that there are those who visit but have no sensitivity to the issues you are dealing with, the where-with-all to think about how their "sharing of information" may affect your children, or even really care to find out before visiting just how different a person's brain is after it's been injured. Too bad you can't make it a requirement that anyone who wishes to visit with Marty needs to have some sort of education on TBI and what the person who has suffered one is really dealing with emotionally as well as mentally.  All I can say is that you have been much more patient with alot of people than I would have been if I were in your situation.  We will continue to pray for your family, Marty's situation and that God's will is done in your family's lives.  We will also now start praying that God allows only those who have Marty's (and your family's) intentions at heart to visit and that those who do visit will have the maturity and spiritual growth to know how to handle anything that they see or hear.
We love you and Marty and continue to pray along with you.

Julie,

I love you...we continue to pray and will not waiver!  May God continue to give you strength and hold you in His arms.  May He walk for you when you feel you cannot and may He speak for you when you do not know what to say.  May the angels intercede for you when you are so tired that you can't form the words to pray.  May all those that love you, Marty, and your family find peace in your requests and respect you and your needs.  Continue to allow God to direct your path even when other do not understand...you are noble, you are strong, and you are blessed!  Don't forget it! :)

Proverbs 31:8-31

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.  Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.  She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.  She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands.  She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar.  She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls.  She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.  She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks.  She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night.  In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers.  She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.  When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet.  She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple.  Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.  She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes.  She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.  She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.  She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.  Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:

"MANY WOMEN DO NOBLE THINGS, BUT YOU SURPASS THEM ALL."

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."

Love you,

Sharon

Lord, please strengthen the Shecklers and protect them.  Please place your angels around them and guard them from the enemy's attacks.  Help them, Father.  You've practically raised Marty from the dead, Lord.  By Your power, please bring them through their current trials to the glory of Your name.  In Jesus name, amen.

Hi Julie,

This is Annie Smith.  I am married to Spencer Smith from SOCC in B'ton.  My parents are Tobin and Janet Wingard.  I am a physical therapist in B'ton.  I was laying in bed last night praying for you guys and I thought of Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana.  It is a great facility for rehab for a variety of issues.  Their web site is www.rhin.com  I know this would be far from home, and I don't know if this would meet Marty's needs, but while I was praying, this popped into my mind so I thought I would mention it.

I wanted you to know that I have been praying for you and your family daily since the accident.  I also check this site daily.

In Him,

Annie Smith
